MSME: More than 2.46 lakh cr sanctioned under the emergency line of credit guarantee program: Government


The cumulative amounts sanctioned and disbursed under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Program (ECLGS) to MSMEs stood at Rs 2.46 lakh crore and Rs 1.81 lakh crore respectively, as of February 28, according to the government.

In a written response to Lok Sabha, MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari said that under the Credit Guarantee Program for Subordinated Debt (CGSSD), 343 digital guarantees have been issued for an amount of 40.56 crore. rupees on March 10.

“According to data provided by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd (NCTGC), which is the implementing agency of ECGLS, as of February 28, 2021, the cumulative amount sanctioned and disbursed under the program is Rs 2 , 46 lakh crore and Rs 1.81 lakh crore, respectively, ”said the minister.

He also said the ministry has set up various programs to provide credit facilities to MSME sectors, such as an interest subsidy program for additional credit which offers a 2% interest subsidy, a credit guarantee program for micro and small enterprises (MSE) as a guarantee. free / unsecured loans from third parties.

Responding to a separate question, he said that as of March 15 of this fiscal year, government procurement of MSEs amounted to Rs 31,292.09 crore, benefiting 1,5580 units.
